SEBASTIEN GRAINGER is the lead singer and guitarist of Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains.
Born in Mississauga, he is perhaps best known as the drummer/singer from Death from Above 1979, the Toronto dance-punk-metal duo that was heard around the world and split after one critically acclaimed record, 2004's "You're a Woman, I'm a Machine".
Since the split he formed Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains; the self-titled debut was released in 2008 by American indie label Saddle Creek and features the single (and MuchMusic Award-winning video) "Who Do We Care For?" His live band included bassist Nick Sewell (ex-Illuminati, Drunkula), drummer Leon Taheny and guitarist Andrew Scott.
Sebastien owns a recording studio with Jimmy Shaw from Metric and has appeared on records by k-os, Fucked Up, DatA and Does it Offend You, Yeah? He is not afraid to rock suspenders with no shirt.
